These are my first Plae shoes and I really like them. I always feel best in minimalist footwear and these are definitely light and flexible. They look better than most minimalist shoes in my opinion because the toe box is not overly wide. I removed the insoles, added black stretch laces, and painted the stripes black to get the look and feel I wanted.

A reliable partner during the Texas Arctic blast weather of 2021. They performed wonderfully in the sudden 6 to 8 inches of snow in Texas. Without any high-top boots, I trusted these Ecols every time I went outside (to play in the snow and then later to collect snow for drinking water). For what I paid good shoe. I paid moving to a new warehouse price with no chance of a return. I ordered the recommended size up. Tight toe box. I wear thin socks with these shoes. When the outsoles are wet they slip on any smooth surface. Walking in from the rain to polished concrete simulates walking on ice.

Comfortable footbed but tricky finding the right size that won't slip. My normal size is 9 but people said to size up and I wish I hadn't. I think an 8.5 would be perfect. Also, you can't see it but the leather creases and wrinkles. And the black stripe has the word “Waterproof” printed on it which is strange to me. Very good customer service though.

I first bought these to help keep my feet dry for a trip to Stockholm in 1*c wet rain. They were great, kept my feet warm and dry ( I did buy a size bigger for socks) also great traction on the uneven cobblestone alley streets. Then took them on a five day hiking adventure in Cuba the next week. Great for the rocky terrain in the mountains and even cleaned up well after the swamp and wetlands tour in the muck. My only problem is the “tongue “ part behind the laces on my right shoe always curls up and turns under, the other shoe does not do it. But when it does it causes my foot to become sore and tender like bruised. I think it might be a defect and maybe they cut the material wrong and no matter what I do it always curls under and is uncomfortable. I'm sure if the one shoe didn't do curl I would give them 5 stars but I doubt I will wear them much any more since the one shoe hurts after a while.

An online shoe company should make every effort for its shoes to fit true to size. After all, we can't try them on. I read that the shoe I wanted might run small, and ordered a 10.5 since I have worn either a 10 or 10.5 for the past 40 years. I couldn't wear the 10.5 for more than 5 minutes, I was just so incredibly small. I exchanged it for an 11. Again, it was just too small. I had to return yet again and order an 11.5 — a size I have never worn in my life. The 11.5 fits great and I can finally appreciate the look and feel of the shoe I originally tried to order 6 weeks ago. It's great and I get compliments every wear. Plae — you really need to look into your sizing.

My kids have been wearing Plae shoes for years and I was excited when they came out with adult shoes. I waited until I found a pair that felt worth the price but was so disappointed when they arrived because instead of the natural foot-shaped shoes my kids have, the had a standard “pointy” toe that squished my toes together. Plae, I'm glad you believe in toe space for proper development in kids, but please consider that when those kids become grownups (or when a grownup is used to yoga or being barefoot), they'll still need more toe-space!

These shoes fit like a glove. Thought maybe they were snug, but wore all day and soooo comfy. Wouldn't want them any looser. I've been wearing them for 8 hours on my feet all day and don't even want to take them off! Had some issues with delay in shipping to my APO address, but customer service was response and super helpful. These are my new go to shoes for all day walking.
