These are great shoes for active 5 year old. good traction, waterproof, well made. We spend more on Plae shoes because they last to hand down to her little brother. These are a little hard for her to get on/off herself but if we leave the laces a little loose she can wiggle in and use the velcro (she can't tie shoes yet)
