Interchangeable tabs, the part that makes a PLAE shoe fit

Tabs are the closure on most PLAE kids styles, and they come off. That means you adjust the volume of the shoe to your child's foot instead of sizing the whole shoe up or down to chase a fit.

Why this matters

A wide foot, a high instep or a custom orthotic normally forces you into a shoe that's too long. Swapping to a longer tab solves the width and depth problem while keeping the length correct.

Tab sizing

  • Small fits shoe sizes 6 to 7.5
  • Medium fits 8 to 12.5
  • Large fits 13 to 3
  • Extra-large fits 3.5 to 4.5, and any size with a high instep or an orthotic. See XL Tabs.

A fuller foot or high instep usually means going one tab size up. A narrow foot or low instep, one size down. Tabs also come in patterns and glow-in-the-dark finishes, so the same pair of shoes can look different week to week. Free shipping over $79.
